The response to the Crafting for Courage sale has been phenomenal. It's heartwarming to feel the love and support that all of you have offered to the people of Japan during this terrible crisis. You have donated handcrafted goodies to the sale, purchased lovingly handmade items, and spread the word about this fundraiser. Each of the individual contributions has been magnified by this collective support.<br />
<br />
On this last day of the fundraiser, I have two more Crafting for Courage bunnies (a momma-and-baby duo) for sale in <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/zencrafting?ref=pr_shop_more">my Etsy shop</a>. I have also created a pdf pattern for you to make your very own Crafting for Courage bunny. They are really wanting to multiply faster than my hands can make them! <br />
<br />
All of the proceeds from the sale of the bunnies and the pdf will be donated to Save the Children's Earthquake Tsunami Relief Fund.<br />
<br />
Thank you once again for your support!ZenCrafterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161858043705055699noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3248911056021728201.post-931739309315414212011-03-27T13:50:00.000-07:002011-03-27T13:51:03.691-07:00Mister Courage<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1BHxRQomiacCygf_pQHs6MSsTvqkJze1SrmFTl8UVGWbMpQwLTSe-HjLXvdX4GAGVTQ-y0P-2qe0I71BQF43EfTCqxAFzmUlmkARIy-DavOaefRkhggb7i1SVzSRox_tBR-lKE7P6rhoH/s1600/P1100066.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1BHxRQomiacCygf_pQHs6MSsTvqkJze1SrmFTl8UVGWbMpQwLTSe-HjLXvdX4GAGVTQ-y0P-2qe0I71BQF43EfTCqxAFzmUlmkARIy-DavOaefRkhggb7i1SVzSRox_tBR-lKE7P6rhoH/s640/P1100066.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br />

<br />
It's made of hug-able Japanese quilted linen, organic hemp/cotton corduroy, and a cotton floral print from France. Czech lace and a blue ceramic flower button decorate the outside pocket. An inside pocket will keep your smaller treasures safe. Soft straps made of the quilted linen and floral print are easy on your shoulders; ribbon ties secure your tote shut. The tote is lined with cotton batting as are the pockets.<br />
<br />
The tote is 13” tall, 15½” wide. The straps are 28” long. The tote will be in Ellen's <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/dragonfly57#">etsy</a> shop from March 24.</span><br />

The pendant is a moody deep sea green and I have accented the edges in burnt orange. The back has been counter-enameled for strength. The edges are brush-polished so the copper shines through and the pinned bail is hammered and forged copper, as is the tiny dropped disc accent. The copper ball chain measures 18" and the pendant measures approximately 3/4".</div><div></div><div>This piece will be available in my <a href="http://etsy.com/shop/silverwork">Etsy shop - silverwork </a>- beginning March 24.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Lynn</div><div><a href="http://lynnbowes.blogspot.com/">http://lynnbowes.blogspot.com/</a></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3248911056021728201.post-80072489552519483272011-03-23T09:29:00.000-07:002011-03-23T09:44:23.784-07:00Bringing Brooches and Bouquets<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyswAK5gJ5gD9d3kZPLEUopVPAnzZ-TVI6Z3hgmyeH2hboQnHQl_KlYg7VYj_Ynxjt_ni92rtAQiD2O3otg9i-pGxFUPgW0waABrG0ROgJ5ycbqe4n3AAunZ73uy2qP4bDV5uwkValPhs/s1600/IMG_5393.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587314848667600354" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyswAK5gJ5gD9d3kZPLEUopVPAnzZ-TVI6Z3hgmyeH2hboQnHQl_KlYg7VYj_Ynxjt_ni92rtAQiD2O3otg9i-pGxFUPgW0waABrG0ROgJ5ycbqe4n3AAunZ73uy2qP4bDV5uwkValPhs/s400/IMG_5393.JPG" /></a> <div></div><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjULXbNQWMPIs0ht3Y5dZ05POHmQDoLXx0bKrP9gurBztF6zzngTa7GIc9BFmZ_R6Aue_NV5EANVSKY6FnjCtCnCKRmMneoJlDC7ghX5sPAAfacfXVrvNj0AJ2sfeVgn4vkyZlVk0bDIgg/s1600/IMG_5383.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587313708022465810" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjULXbNQWMPIs0ht3Y5dZ05POHmQDoLXx0bKrP9gurBztF6zzngTa7GIc9BFmZ_R6Aue_NV5EANVSKY6FnjCtCnCKRmMneoJlDC7ghX5sPAAfacfXVrvNj0AJ2sfeVgn4vkyZlVk0bDIgg/s400/IMG_5383.JPG" /></a> These birch bark brooches start as a downed branch found in my woods and are cut and sanded smooth by my hands. I then apply a veneer of birch bark that I've gathered and drill a design in the front, a process that was inspired by the crafty woodpeckers out in my backyard. A few stitches and a pinback screwed to the back make this piece one you can wear on your own adventure.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSGUnzfE3ubAsBLMrs1zwEK01wNT8XuhSjURgSCLIvX9QtPdnOkdvPhp_ZCyjUsZTCMnDSOSd-gb0_mmgqdzxzKEc9PyMmTM3duqrR40DluTM17B6BpkkzgPZATpczEsceLhDQzO4NbJE/s1600/IMG_5369.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587313702007120466" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSGUnzfE3ubAsBLMrs1zwEK01wNT8XuhSjURgSCLIvX9QtPdnOkdvPhp_ZCyjUsZTCMnDSOSd-gb0_mmgqdzxzKEc9PyMmTM3duqrR40DluTM17B6BpkkzgPZATpczEsceLhDQzO4NbJE/s400/IMG_5369.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigCAgLO2rYtN56A8IVRaqRqx92Wapuu2XflZJltzCPFMCrnkxwLHhDycoTJJwQiOATitwDPlMrGfhbMwFl114MkOaC5RD3sNz6Oh-OXRhO_yjZGg73N7Brp4cdmTkFMx1sR2jYcXAXSXw/s1600/IMG_5377.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587313702087630578" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigCAgLO2rYtN56A8IVRaqRqx92Wapuu2XflZJltzCPFMCrnkxwLHhDycoTJJwQiOATitwDPlMrGfhbMwFl114MkOaC5RD3sNz6Oh-OXRhO_yjZGg73N7Brp4cdmTkFMx1sR2jYcXAXSXw/s400/IMG_5377.JPG" /></a> A bouquet inspired by penny rugs and the idea that even past-prime wool clothing can be turned into something lovely. I will have at least one or two missing pieces stones, a handful of crochet covered sea stones and I will introduce my new hand dyed with natural materials crochet covered bamboo pebbles. I am so in love with these and guess what, they are so wonderfully light. I am going to turn a few into necklaces very soon.<div><br /></div><div>xo</div><div>margie</div><div><a href="http://www.resurrectionfern.ca/">resurrectionfern.ca</a><br /><div><br /></div></div>Margie Oomenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01459762796958425287noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3248911056021728201.post-78730906412819289532011-03-23T03:03:00.000-07:002011-03-27T13:51:44.832-07:00five pincushions & one wrist cuff<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7_Ap4LD1cH1RyMtKHvcw6lTdYDD5KJfre13kqJtkBeDJMmVyQ_bvEC4Vz6bJon9vpGj3sXjKgzhVMZ6a0v53aHaK1Lt5YrH4THrt8qQDvQLCwyupDC2D5OoTP9oA_9JpaVOkvgIJRgIoV/s1600/cfc-pinc-redblog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7_Ap4LD1cH1RyMtKHvcw6lTdYDD5KJfre13kqJtkBeDJMmVyQ_bvEC4Vz6bJon9vpGj3sXjKgzhVMZ6a0v53aHaK1Lt5YrH4THrt8qQDvQLCwyupDC2D5OoTP9oA_9JpaVOkvgIJRgIoV/s400/cfc-pinc-redblog.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

I have (re)embroidered one of the flowers & the leaves around with yellow embroidery floss. The outside is embellished with white French lace, and a decorated mother of pearl button. It is lightweight, and perfect for summer (no batting inside), and measures 21x7cm / 8.27x2.76". My own wrist is 15cm/5.90" and it fits me nicely.
